Riflecraft Travel & Accommodations
Travel to Your Riflecraft Training Course
All of our Riflecraft training courses are held in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia south of Charlottesville. Students arriving by commercial aircraft may choose to fly into either Richmond, Virginia or Charlottesville, Virginia – each about 1 ½ to 2 hour drive from where we conduct our courses. Dulles International and Reagan National Airports in Washington D.C. are about a 3 ½ hour drive. Students may also choose to arrive in Lynchburg Virginia, a closer regional airport which is about an hour's distance from Spears Mountain. Guests arriving by private aircraft will find excellent facilities at any of these airports.
For students attending a customized Advanced Skills Workshop, your training may held at Spears Mountain, at our corporate facilities north of Charlottesville or a combination thereof. You will be advised of recommended accommodations and arrival airport once you have worked with our training team to create your desired custom workshop.
Accommodations During Your Riflecraft Course
There are ample accommodation choices in any of the cities of Richmond, Charlottesville or Lynchburg. You may choose from 5 star hotels to quaint Virginia country bed & breakfasts. Be sure to plan at least an hour and a half to two and a half hours of commute time to Spears Mountain each day which is where most of our Riflecraft Training Courses are held.
The towns of Amherst, Lovingston and Arrington are all closer to Spears Mountain (25 - 40 minutes travel time) where you'll find more limited accommodation choices.
We might suggest considering the beautiful private lodges along the historic James River, These lodges are a short 30 minutes from Spears Mountain. They also provide you a perfect location for activities such as an evening fishing excusion, wading the James River for trophy small mouth bass.
